Cash flow / Guide
Build a clearer cash flow forecast
A practical starting point for understanding the timing of money coming in and going out.
Start with cash you can use
Begin with the balances available for business operations. Keep restricted funds separate so your starting point reflects cash you can actually spend.
Map the timing
List expected customer receipts alongside payroll, supplier payments, rent, and other commitments. Use realistic payment dates rather than invoice dates.
Review the assumptions
Compare the forecast with actual cash movement each week. Update collection timing and planned spending as new information comes in.
Use this as a discussion framework. Decisions should reflect your business, current information, and guidance from your advisors.
