Planning / Guide
A practical annual planning playbook
Turn business priorities into a working financial plan.
Choose the priorities
Identify the few outcomes that matter most for the coming year. Write down what must change in the business to achieve them.
Build the operating plan
Connect revenue expectations with staffing, delivery costs, overhead, and cash needs. Record the assumptions behind each meaningful number.
Make room for alternatives
Build a base case and a slower-growth case. Decide in advance which signals would trigger a change in spending or timing.
Return to the plan
Review actual results each month and update your forecast. Keep the original budget so you can still understand what changed.
Use this as a discussion framework. Decisions should reflect your business, current information, and guidance from your advisors.
